Wal-mart Is Still Selling Nazi T-Shirts 62 Weeks Later

Just when you thought all of the Wal-mart t-shirts bearing the exact replica of an infamous Nazi symbol were recalled, or sold to a discount store and burned, a Wal-mart in Palmdale, California has them on sale for $3.00 a pop.

While I haven’t followed this story at length, I find it interesting that the article insinuates that members of Congress have the authority to restrict what iconography a retailer can sell. I do find merchandise carrying the Nazi logos to be both offensive and in poor taste. I support the rights of individuals who to protest and applying pressure for Wal-mart to stop selling the questionable merchandise.

I take exception when representatives of the US government try to regulate what politically charged merchandise a retailer may sell.

It becomes a free speech issue.

Unpopular views are supposed to be protected by our First Amendment.

I boycott WalMart for so many reasons, now adding this one among them. Just say NO to WalMart. And I agree with you, people should vote with their feet and their dollars instead of restricting free speech.

I’m with BA here. I’d rather chew tin foil than shop at the evil empire. That said, I don’ want any legislative body to determine what they offer for sale.

Walmart Rocks!!! It’s my favourite store by a long shot, great merchandise at unbeatable prices, so folk say they dont pay good wages – then I say if an employee is unhappy then get another job!
Folk don’t like whats on sale, it’s simple – dont buy it.
But leave the cchoice of to buy or not to buy to the individual.
I Love and support Walmart, the staff are always awesome, friendly and helpful.
    May Walmart continue forever!!!
    Mark.
